Sitting proud in the native New Zealand bush, the resilient and beautiful Manuka shrub produces nectar that has become the darling of the world. Carefully crafted by bees, this nectar is turned into a rich, smooth, amber honey with a deliciously sweet flavour.

the UMF GRADING system

Manuka honey is renowned for its unique properties and this special quality is given a trusted mark and grading system called the ‘Unique Manuka Factor’ (UMF). It represents the rare signature compounds only found in this honey and guarantees purity -  the greater the number,  the greater the presence of the highly prized compounds and chemical markers. This system was developed by the UMF Honey Association in New Zealand. Honey manufacturers will be granted a UMF licence if their honey meets the specific requirements.

the MGO GRADING system

Methylglyoxal (MGO) is a natural chemical compound found in the honey produced from the nectar of some Manuka Tree flowers. MGO is a naturally occurring antibacterial chemical. The higher the MGO rating, the higher the level of antibacterial chemical Methylglyoxal.

digestive HEALTH

Digestive health is the most important part of an optimally functioning immune system. The healthier our gastrointestinal tract is, the healthier we are. Manuka Honey can, in some cases, help reduce the pathogenic bacteria in the gut and promotes the growth of ‘good’ probiotic bacteria. It also promotes the growth of immune cells, important for keeping us energised and healthy.
